From the sixteenth century onwards, Prague became one of the most important Jewish centres in the world. Known for its beautifully preserved Synagogues and cemeteries as well as great Jewish leaders such as the Maharal and Noda B’Yehuda, the Jewish story in Prague is waiting to be explored. A JRoots journey to Prague will bring these places to life.

Prague is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and you will also have an opportunity to explore the famous Prague Castle and world renowned Old Town.

A visit to Jewish Prague wouldn’t be complete without dealing with the story of the Jews during the Holocaust and your JRoots journey to Prague will include a trip to Terezin (Thereisanstadt) one of the Nazis most infamous ghettoes. Together we will pay tribute to the victims of the Shoah as well as recalling the testimonies of extreme bravery and heroism in the midst of evil. We will see, especially at times of despair that the Jewish heritage which we have seen in Prague remained and remains important to Jews throughout the world.
